Rally roadbook
Polly turns the route into a training roadbook: one box per junction, with km, tulip and heading in degrees. Edit it by hand or add to it while you ride with "MARK", follow it on screen with a trip meter you can correct, or print it.

Where to find it
While navigating: ☰ menu › "Rally roadbook". On a phone it is full screen; on a tablet it opens in the "Roadbook" panel next to the map.

What a box contains
- Box number, total km and partial km from the previous box.
- Tulip: your exit plus the other roads leaving the junction, taken from the map. At roundabouts the exit is measured 60 m after.
- CAP: the exit heading in degrees, 0 to 359.
- Road name and surface after the turn.
- Dangers: "!" for climbs of 12% to 18%, "!!" for 18% to 25%, "!!!" above 25%; restricted section.
- Symbols: ford, barrier, village, fuel. A town is marked if it is within 700 m (300 m for a village), fuel within 200 m.
The box changes by itself 15 m after the junction.
Trip meter and remote

- Total and partial, like a trip master. Correct by −10, +10, −100, +100 m; "Reset" the partial; "GPS" removes the correction from the total.
- On a tablet, "Hide map" leaves only the roadbook, to practise navigating without a map.
- Remote control: a Bluetooth handlebar remote that acts like a keyboard. Ready out of the box: up and down arrows for boxes, left and right (and volume − and +) for ±10 m, Page Down and Up for ±100 m, Play/Pause and Enter to reset the partial.
- In Settings › Navigation › "Remote control" pick an action and press the key you want to use.
Printable PDF
From "My tracks": the track's ⋮ menu › "Export roadbook PDF", then the format.

- Formats: A4 (8 boxes per page), A5 (5), 145 mm roll and 150 mm roll.
- Each page has title, date, km, page number and data credits. Boxes are 30 mm tall in three columns, with vector tulips.
- The roll comes in long pages of up to about 5 m (163 boxes), then continues in another file.
Symbols are Polly's own, with conventional meanings: they are not the official FIM set.
Editing the roadbook
From "My tracks": open a track and tap "Edit roadbook". Roadbooks you have edited are in "Saved roadbooks".

- Pick a box and change the tulip (add or remove branches), the notes and symbols and the photos. You can add or remove boxes.
- "Undo last edit" steps back once; every save is kept as a revision.
- "Regenerate from route" rebuilds the boxes from the track and shows you a preview first: boxes you fixed by hand stay.
- Works on phones and tablets.
Field survey with "MARK"
While recording a free ride or a navigation: the "MARK" button on screen, or the remote's MARK key (space bar by default).

- One tap saves the point right away, with time, position and km. Then, if you want, choose what you marked: Danger 1, 2 or 3, Ford, Gate, Town, Fuel or Note.
- Photos when stopped: the camera only opens below 5 km/h. Location data (EXIF) is removed from photos.
- Correctable trip in free rides too: −100, −10, +10, +100 m. When stopped, "Align to this box" sets the trip to that box's km. Every correction is logged with time and position.
- At the end of the ride Polly adds your marks to the boxes and opens the editor. Marks with no type, no position or poor GPS go to "To complete", to sort out later.
- If the app closes or the phone switches off, marks already taken are not lost.
Export and import

- PDF on a 145 or 150 mm roll, A4 or A5.
- Plain GPX: the track and one waypoint per box.
- OpenRally cross-country 1.0.3, export and import.
- .pollyroadbook, Polly's complete file, with or without photos: it asks before exporting.
- An OpenRally file, a .pollyroadbook or a GPX with waypoints opens in Polly from "Share" or "Open with" and becomes a roadbook; boxes with missing details go to "To complete". A GPX with no waypoints stays a track.
The numbers
- 0–359°
- exit heading (CAP) of each box
- ±10 / ±100 m
- trip meter corrections
- 12% · 18% · 25%
- thresholds for the ! !! !!! dangers
- 4
- print formats: A4, A5, 145 and 150 mm roll
- 5
- photos per box at most
- 5 km/h
- below this speed the camera and "Align to this box" are available
What it does not do
- There are no voice notes during the survey yet.
- Compatibility with Rally Navigator and Tulip files has not been tested with real files yet: Polly follows the OpenRally 1.0.3 format.
- Remote keys only work with the roadbook open.
- The PDF is exported from "My tracks", not from navigation.
